The grand hall of the Schaezlerpalais will resound with four original 18th-century instruments: a Stein fortepiano from 1785, an English Stodart fortepiano from 1790, a tangent piano from the Regensburg workshop of Schmal, and a further tangent piano from the Schmahl workshop dating to 1794 - alongside a double-manual harpsichord by Shudi & Broadwood with a machine stop and Venetian swell from 1785.
The instruments are heard in shifting combinations, including rare works for piano at three, five, or six hands.
Performers: Sylvia Ackermann, Christoph Hammer, Costantino Mastroprimiano, and Olga Pashchenko.
