Asya Fateyeva - Around Bach

Asya Fateyeva is regarded as one of the leading classical saxophonists. Born in Crimea, she studied in Cologne, Paris, and Lyon; today she is a professor of saxophone in Hamburg and Lübeck. In 2014, she became the first woman to reach the final of the International Adolphe Sax Competition and won third prize - she is also a Klassik-Echo Award winner.

She performs with orchestras such as the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin, the Vienna Symphonics, and the Dresden Philharmonic, and was a featured artist at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival in 2024. Her repertoire combines original works for saxophone with arrangements from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic periods, as well as projects featuring jazz and world music.

On January 29, 2026, she presents her programme "Around Bach" at Kultur Palast Hamburg.
