Gezeiten - Lieder und Poesie
Fischhalle Harburg, Hamburg, Germany
15 €
An evening with singer-songwriter Reinhard Wilkens.
For seven years, the Harburg inner harbour was his home - many of his songs and poems were born here, by and on the water. Since then he has moved to North Frisia, where the vast northern landscape and the rhythm of the sea fuel new ideas. On the coast he also rediscovered the language of his family: Low German (Plattdütsch).
For his guest performance at the Fischhalle, he opens a treasure chest of music and poetry. His own texts move between standard German and Low German - sometimes sung with guitar accompaniment, sometimes spoken aloud. They tell of days in the harbour, of starting over in the north, and of the eternal ebb and flow of the tides. Throughout, he shifts effortlessly between reflective depth and a gentle sense of humour.
