THE SCOTTISH MUSIC PARADE - the original - straight from Edinburgh, with a Best-Of programme

Bagpipers, drummers, musicians, singers and dancers - all direct from Scotland - take the audience on an evening-long musical journey through Scottish culture. The programme brings together the best-known pieces and arrangements from the past 10 years, performed against a castle backdrop complete with towers and battlements modelled on a real Scottish castle.

Most of the performers are regulars at the world-famous Edinburgh Tattoo, and many of the pipers and drummers are international competition winners and world champions on their instruments. The programme ranges from traditional bagpipe music to rock songs: when electric guitars and the full ensemble strike up the Eagles anthem "Hotel California", Mike Rutherford's (GENESIS) "The Living Years", Coldplay's "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" or Linkin Park's "Castle of Glass", goosebumps are guaranteed. The regiment of drummers closes the evening with their "drum fireworks".

Lively Scottish dances in magnificent traditional costumes alternate with heartfelt ballads. The finale brings a real cannon salute through drifting mist - after which the pipers and drummers in full uniform march right through the audience aisles as "Flower of Scotland" or "Amazing Grace" rings out.
