THE SCOTTISH MUSIC PARADE — Freilichtbühne Prenzlau, Prenzlau

THE SCOTTISH MUSIC PARADE - the original - direct from Edinburgh with a best-of programme

Audiences can once again experience authentic Celtic magic and Scottish joie de vivre when THE SCOTTISH MUSIC PARADE comes to Germany.
Bagpipe players, drummers, musicians, singers and dancers - all flown in directly from Scotland - take the audience on one evening through a captivating, thrilling and diverse musical journey. This time they bring a best-of programme featuring the most famous and successful pieces and arrangements from the past 10 years.

Against a castle backdrop complete with towers and battlements - a recreation of a Scottish castle - the artists present ever-new facets of Scottish culture. While moments before the impressive sound of bagpipes and drums fills the hall and sweeps the audience on the stands, the next moment tender ballads full of longing and vastness create an intoxicating silence in the room.

The performing artists represent the best that Scotland has to offer. Almost all participants regularly perform at the world-renowned Edinburgh Tattoo. Among the bagpipe players and drummers are many winners of international competitions and world champions on their instruments.

Even the combination of traditional bagpipe playing with modern rock music from Paul McCartney to Coldplay works beautifully. When the guitarists crank up their electric guitars to full volume and the entire ensemble gradually joins in with their traditional instruments to Paul McCartney's "Mull of Kintyre", Dire Straits' "Going Home", the Eagles' anthem "Hotel California", or Simple Minds' "Belfast Child", goosebumps are guaranteed.

Finally, the drum corps with its "drum fireworks" brings the hall to a fever pitch.

Spirit and exuberant festive atmosphere radiate from Scotland's joyful and energetic dances.
