An Evening in Havana - with Yami CruzMontero, Jenny Peña & Christos Asonitis

Yami is a versatile pianist and composer originally from Cuba, who has been living in Munich for many years. Her blend of classical music, jazz and Cuban tradition is entirely her own. Together with Cuban violinist and composer Jenny Peña and Greek jazz drummer and composer Christos Asonitis, she takes the audience on a musical journey to her homeland.

Europe and Africa were the mother and father of Cuban culture. From that fusion sprang numerous Cuban musical genres - Son, Danzón and Rumba. The programme features compositions by Andrés Alén, Aldo López-Gavilán, Jenny Peña and Yami Cruz Montero, with the beloved El Manisero by Moisés Simons as one of the highlights.
