Magnus Knut Hansen lives a quiet life as the dike warden of Dagebüll. When two mysterious figures kidnap his sheep Dörte and drag her into another world, he doesn't hesitate for a moment - he gives chase and finds himself plunged into an adventure. Soon he's dealing not only with brawlers, knights and fantastical creatures, but also with an impossibly chatty seagull and a princess who has - for reasons unknown - fallen head over heels for him.
