"Chamber music can be this hot." Zürichsee-Zeitung

Classical at its core, yet distinctive, curious and unconventional - SPARK builds a bridge between classical music, minimalism and the avant-garde.

The new programme centres on "Bohemia" as a way of life, with its roots in the vibrant Quartier Latin of early 19th-century Paris: "In the world of young artists and intellectuals of the big city, musette and waltz gaiety, grand opera and street songs, military marches and rhapsodies set the tone. That is precisely where our journey begins!"

With SPARK's unusual instrumental palette - some thirty recorders, melodica, violin, viola, cello and piano - the musicians want to bring this living playground to life with unbridled joy and breathtaking virtuosity.

In the second half of the programme, the masterworks of yesterday are woven together with the sounds of today. Traditional Roma melodies in a fiery suite by Adam Ilyas Kuruc meet the ensemble's own compositions and new commissioned works by Sebastian Bartmann and Elena Kats-Chernin. Look forward to a gripping evening!
