Rudi Dolezal, born in 1958, is an author, film producer and director based in Vienna, La Gomera and Miami. His documentaries on Freddie Mercury and Miles Davis were honoured at the Grammys (the "Oscar of pop music"), as was his video for "Rock Me Amadeus". He has also received three Golden Romys, six Echos and the Austrian State Prize for Film, and has twice been awarded the Dr. Karl Renner Prize for journalism.
