Gisa Pauly reads from "Windjammer" — Musikpavillon im Kurpark, Bad Orb
Description was written before the event

Bad Orb is in for an entertaining summer evening of suspense, humour and Italian flair: on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, at 19:30, bestselling author Gisa Pauly will read from her new Sylt crime novel "Windjammer" (Mamma Carlotta 20).

The venue is the Musikpavillon in the Kurpark in Bad Orb. If the weather turns, the reading will move indoors to the Gartensaal of the Konzerthalle.

The novel's official release date is 2 April 2026, so this event is a chance to catch Mamma Carlotta live shortly after publication and get a behind-the-scenes look at the milestone 20th instalment of the beloved series.

With "Windjammer", one of the most popular amateur sleuths in German crime fiction celebrates her 20th adventure: Mamma Carlotta, the spirited Italian grandmother with a big heart, a healthy dose of suspicion and an unerring nose for trouble. A missing child, a mysterious death and a web of dark secrets throw Sylt into turmoil. While the police investigate, Mamma Carlotta - Dio mio! - conducts her own enquiries.

For 20 years the Mamma Carlotta series has won readers over with its blend of cozy crime, Nordic island atmosphere, situational comedy and Italian temperament. Whenever the outspoken Italian clashes with her taciturn Frisian son-in-law, witty banter is guaranteed. The series is a fixture on the bestseller charts and is often called the "Miss Marple of Sylt". Fans of Rita Falk and the Eberhofer mysteries will feel right at home.

An evening with Gisa Pauly promises relaxed entertainment - suspenseful, charming and with a distinct holiday feel, right in the Bad Orb Kurpark.
