Description was written before the event

Come to the book signing with Franz Xaver Gernstl on 16 July 2026 at Hugendubel München Fünf Höfe!

In his SPIEGEL bestseller "Glück gehabt!", Gernstl shares his best stories from four decades on the road - and what he found without ever looking for it: an adventurous life with his closest friends and a sense of what happiness really means.

About the book:
Three men in a red bus. For 40 years, Franz Xaver Gernstl travelled the world with two friends, searching for good stories and remarkable people - from rural villages to city streets, from society's fringes to the fast lane. How do they live? What drives them? What do they dream of? These encounters became the cult BR series "Gernstl unterwegs", in which over 1,000 people speak openly, directly and sometimes quite oddly about their lives. But how do such meetings come about? Can you plan for chance? Or is it, in the end, just a matter of luck?

Together with cameraman Hans Peter Fischer and sound engineer Stefan Ravasz, he travelled Germany, Europe and the world from 1983 to 2024, serving as producer, director and presenter all at once. Through his production company megaherz Film und Fernsehen, Gernstl is behind numerous successful German TV formats including "Landfrauenküche", "Willi wills wissen" and "Checke...
