The esteemed Stanford family, despite their English nobility and impeccable manners, has quite a few dark secrets to their name. Today brings a joyful occasion for a grand feast at Stanford Hall: Frederic, the youngest Stanford heir, has finally found the lady of his dreams - Fleur de la Coeur, a French aristocrat from Toulouse. Malicious tongues suggest that the beautiful, if somewhat older, Frenchwoman has her eye only on his money - why else would she entangle herself with this overly refined bore? But whether it's a love match or not, the celebration will be as grand as a fairy tale, with all the trimmings. Yet one of the guests will not live to see the wedding night...

Our banquet hall transforms this evening into a majestic old English castle. The guests find themselves in the midst of a criminal adventure in the style of the 1950s and 1960s, following in the footsteps of Miss Marple and Edgar Wallace.
