Kasseler Unterwelten - Reichsbahn Bunker and Viktoria Bunker

Equipped with helmets and torches, participants first explore the hidden spaces of the former administrative and air-raid shelter building of the German Reichsbahn. The route then continues to the Viktoria Bunker - an ancient rock cellar converted in 1940 into a public air-raid tunnel. In gas locks, underground passages and abandoned shelters, the history of the bombing war, civil defence and bunker construction becomes tangible, as do the stark contrasts between these two very different sites.

Eyewitness accounts alongside historical and artistic installations shed light on the lives and suffering of people under the Nazi dictatorship.
