Peter Paul Althaus - born in 1892, once censored by Goebbels, now nearly forgotten - was a cabaret artist, satirist and dreamer who counted Ringelnatz, Rilke and the Mann family among his friends. Suzanne von Borsody reads his playfully poetic texts, rich in wordplay, depth and melancholy.
Joined by double bassist Kurt Holzkämper, she creates a jazz-inflected, improvised dialogue of voice and bass - with flowers getting a word in too. The evening moves between quiet smiles and outright laughter.
