Sonate-Trio-Suite
Anneliese Brost Musikforum Ruhr, Bochum, Germany
Chamber music offers a special intimacy between audience and musicians, allowing listeners to appreciate the performers and their instruments outside the context of a large orchestra. This works particularly well in programmes that bring together works from different eras and styles, revealing how various periods developed playing techniques and favoured particular timbres. This concert does exactly that: a line-up of clarinet, violin and piano sounds as a trio and in different duo pairings, featuring compositions from Ludwig van Beethoven to Jörg Widmann - a must for clarinet enthusiasts and chamber music lovers in general!
