Flurwoche - Trouble in the Stairwell

Take a fiery Italian woman, a pair of German tidiness fanatics, a sentimental gay man, a Russian-German dominatrix, and a grumbling hermit. Put them all in a shared hallway and give their prejudices a good shake. The result is "Flurwoche" - the passionately politically incorrect Mondpalast comedy about the hilarious everyday madness of life in a Ruhr Valley apartment block.

Into the idyll of a Wanne-Eickel hallway - where the Buschmann couple is dutifully carrying out their cleaning-week chores and greeting their multicultural neighbours in each one's native language - barges Friedhelm Christ, the hunchbacked basement dweller, shattering the peace and letting reality in.

The Ruhr region in all its unvarnished truth: people of many nationalities, people with disabilities, gay residents, and the "perfectly normal" German married couple. Entrenched prejudices make a harmonious community impossible - until the threat of losing their home forces the tenants together and reveals the real people behind the masks of cliche.
