MYKE - Hacking The Manosphere — Kulturzentrum Pavillon, Hannover
Description was written before the event

Targeted online radicalization of young men is real and carries fatal consequences. Every act of violence with deadly outcomes classified as terrorism in Germany and widely discussed over the past 18 years was committed by men. Masculinism-radicalized male entitlement-was never the main but always a secondary motive. The number of violent acts against FLINTA* people and queers has risen for years.

The MYKE project by the onlinetheater.live team investigated how masculinist radicalization works online, where it begins, and how to interrupt it early through artistic means. In summer 2024, they infiltrated anti-feminist content bubbles on TikTok with a specially developed video campaign. Between dating tips, self-optimization marketing, and fantasies of male dominance, they wove counter-narratives against the prevailing image of manhood there. They have already reported on their research findings in Berlin, Düsseldorf, and Lucerne, and on the project homepage: www.myke.fyi/docs
The project is a co-production of HAU Hebbel am Ufer, FFT Düsseldorf, and Kleintheater Lucerne.

MYKE was awarded the FAUST theaterpreis 2025 in the "Genrespringer" category and the Berliner Präventionspreis 2025
