Surveillance of societies is nothing new. But today we live inside an economic system that feeds on our personal information, emotions, desires, images and voices - turning them into raw material to predict and steer our (consumer) behaviour.

In this performative research piece, whataboutfuego starts from a set of questions: How do personal memories, experiences and feelings become data that large corporations can profit from? Who is actually watching whom? And why do we all hand over our data voluntarily? The work traces how surveillance systems have shifted over the past 20 years.
