The Language of the Stars
took place · 30 Jun 2026

Description was written before the event
It all began in East Africa around 60,000 years ago: the people who set out from there to populate the world took with them not only their bows and arrows, but also their constellations. The first writing humanity ever read was written in the sky - the stars. Seemingly eternal and immovable, yet at the same time changeable and impossible to predict.
Our imagination arranged the stars into patterns. And those constellations differ across eras, cultures, and continents. In his monumental "Atlas of the Starry Sky and Creation Myths of Humanity", Raoul Schrott shows and explains why star images bear such remarkable similarities across vastly different cultures around the world.
