A Tribute to the Tenor of the Century — Kurhaus Bad Mergentheim, Bad Mergentheim

In 2025, one of the greatest opera singers of all time, Luciano Pavarotti, would have celebrated his 90th birthday. Three exceptional tenors of our era wish to honour their great idol and perform the magnificent arias and songs that made Luciano Pavarotti famous - one hundred percent live and without microphones. The programme features works by Verdi, Puccini and Donizetti, as well as beloved Italian canzonas. Among the selected titles are "Nessun dorma", "'O sole mio", "Caruso", "La donna è mobile", "Torna a Surriento", "E lucevan le stelle", "Funiculì, Funiculà", "Vesti la giubba", "Mamma", "Granada" and many more.

Three powerful-voiced singers from Germany, Spain and Italy wish to honour the tenor of the century musically. Johannes Groß from Dortmund is the leader and founder of German Tenors and is regarded by many as one of the last heroic tenors of our time. Oscar Marin hails from Barcelona, was a student of Montserrat Caballé and sings around the world today - from Europe to China. Ricardo Marinello won the talent show "Das Supertalent" at just 18 years old, yet continued his classical training and captivates with his lyrical tenor voice - recently he has also made waves on TikTok.

The performers are accompanied by keyboard virtuoso Claudia Hirschfeld, who in 2017 created the piece "Luciano" for the 10th anniversary of Pavarotti's death - a musical tribute that has since won several awards at international composition competitions. Radio and television presenter Thomas Gerres will share stories and anecdotes from Luciano Pavarotti's eventful life.
