A free adaptation of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale.

A beautiful princess finds no king worthy of marriage. She dismisses every suitor with sharp remarks and haughty mockery. But one day she meets someone who will not tolerate such treatment: King Thrushbeard.

Disguised as a beggar, he appears at the court of her determined father and wins the princess's hand. Instead of splendor and a palace, she finds herself in a humble cottage, facing hard work and many trials. When she finally finds work at King Thrushbeard's court, unaware of his true identity, he guides her along a path where she discovers genuine love.
