After a theatre rehearsal, renowned director Henrik Vogler and young actress Anna meet in an empty rehearsal room. What begins as a matter-of-fact conversation unfolds into an intense dialogue about art, power, dependency, and personal vulnerability. Memories, unspoken conflicts, and emotional projections surface - not only between director and actress, but also in the shadow of Anna's deceased mother, who was once Vogler's great love and stage partner.
