Egersdörfer/Mueller/Schulz - Carmen or Words That Touch the Heart — Gostner Hoftheater, Nuremberg

Carmen decided a few months ago to live as a hikikomori. Egersdörfer initially thought she had caught a terrible cold, since he was only half-listening as usual. But this is neither an infectious disease nor a method of suicide by plunging a dagger into one's belly. In Japan, hikikomori refers to people who almost completely withdraw from the world and live as hermits solely within their own four walls. Most likely, Egersdörfer himself is to blame for Carmen's predicament. Even his neighbour René Eichhorn was so worn down by Egersdörfer that he had to seek therapy. Of course, it was unintentional. But Egersdörfer wouldn't be Egersdörfer if he couldn't humorously turn these new circumstances to his advantage.

The choleric Egers, the delighted neighbour, and the Bible-savvy Carmen dance together on a minefield of dark humour. The audience experiences, among other things, a hilarious exorcism, feminist Biedermeier, topical jokes about testosterone, and a glimpse behind the scenes of utterly unhinged food bloggers.
