A miller boasts that his daughter can spin straw into gold. The king hears this and takes her to his castle. If she can fill three chambers with gold spun from straw, she will become his wife. A little man comes to her aid - but a year later he returns to collect his payment: the queen's firstborn child. The desperate queen gets one last chance to keep her child...
