Open Stage at Rosenau - presented by Maurice Grange

Over 20 years ago, Berlin-based artist Detlef Winterberg and a group of like-minded performers founded the "Scheinbar" in Berlin - a venue designed to give anyone the chance to try out, rehearse and develop their acts. The concept of the "open stage" soon spread to every major city in Germany. Today, across the country, countless - mostly small - stages host a so-called Open Stage every evening, where special moments, tragic slips, comic incidents and genuine personal triumphs are experienced and celebrated night after night.

Twelve years ago, the OpenStage at Rosenau became Stuttgart's first open stage - initially a cautious attempt to bring to the city what had long been a fixture elsewhere. Today it draws a loyal crowd of both performers and audience members, and has become an established part of Stuttgart's live performance scene.

OpenStage takes place every Tuesday, twice a month during the season. Anyone can sign up and perform - cabaret artists, mimes, actors, comedians, clowns, singers, tap dancers, musicians, dancers, magicians, jugglers... professionals, amateurs and beginners alike. There is no fee - just a dinner and a free drink - but you do get the chance to give it your all in front of a live audience.
