This fast-paced comedy is based on the film of the same name and draws on motifs from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Three couples spend a weekend in the countryside and find themselves caught up in quarrels, rivalry, desire and doubt. Who loves whom? How long does love last?

Woody Allen explores the many faces of love - longing, fear, misunderstanding and passion, missed chances and hollow fulfilments, the hopeless tangle of emotions - hilarious and heartbreaking in equal measure.
