This fast-paced comedy is based on the film of the same name and draws on motifs from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Three couples spend a weekend in the countryside and find themselves arguing, competing, lusting and questioning - who loves whom, and how long can love last? Woody Allen writes about longing, fear, misunderstanding and desire, about missed chances and hollow fulfilments, about the hopeless tangle of emotions - hilarious and heartbreakingly absurd in equal measure.
