Pamir - A Project by the Ohnsorg Youth Club

On 21 September 1957, the German cargo training ship Pamir sank in Hurricane Carrie, west-southwest of the Azores. There were 86 people on board, half of them young people under 18. They tell us their story - about the longing for freedom and the wide open world, about the harsh daily life aboard the training ship, and about their fight for survival in one of the lifeboats.

The play draws on a historical event, yet gives voice to perspectives from the present. Because today, too, thousands of people die off Europe's coasts, and with them the hope of a better life.
