"Sisters are doin' it for themselves" - the well-known Eurythmics song could serve as the motto for this evening. It points to the feminist movements of recent decades and to a much longer story: for centuries, women have shaped music history in decisive ways, yet their works were repeatedly pushed aside or forgotten.
With the programme "Feminine Soundscapes", Duo Amabile presents a broad range of female creativity across different eras - from the medieval mystic Hildegard von Bingen through Clara Schumann and Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel to Nadia Boulanger, Ester Mägi, and Graciane Finzi.
