Thomas Mann called it the "greatest detective novel of all time": Dostoevsky's masterpiece unfolds with gripping tension as the young Raskolnikov, rebelling against a world in chaos, is pursued by prosecutor Porfiry as a murder suspect. The language combines suspense and humour, force and poetry. Berlin's city magazine judged it: "A stunning guest performance at the Renaissance-Theater."
