Opening Concert / Giacomo Puccini - "Messa di Gloria"

At St. Gumbertus Church in Ansbach, Giacomo Puccini's "Messa di Gloria" resounds - a rarely performed early work that the composer submitted in 1880 as his final composition. The mass sets the complete parts of the ordinary to music and ranges from lyrical passages to powerful choral movements and virtuosic solos.

Performing are: Lukas Schmidt (tenor) and Felix Rathgeber (bass) as soloists, the Ansbach Kantorei together with the Jakobschor Rothenburg (direction: Jasmin Neubauer), and the expanded Ansbach Chamber Orchestra.

The concert opens Grüne Nacht.
