Pianists Amadeus Wiesensee and Nina Gurol invite audiences to a moving dialogue between music and language. Drawing on Viktor Ullmann's melodrama for speaking voice and piano "Die Weise von Liebe und Tod des Cornets Christoph Rilke", set to texts by R.M. Rilke, the duo shapes a musical encounter of otherworldly beauty. Despite all fear of the terrible, the uncertain, and the unspeakable, their music wraps the audience in consoling warmth.

In dialogue with Schubert's luminous and consoling piano sonatas, excerpts from Ullmann's final work ring out - a piece he composed in Theresienstadt shortly before his murder in Auschwitz. A piano evening that, in the meeting of music and language, reflects something deeply human and creates a moment of shared, consoling experience.
