The Little I-Am-I, a small, colourful, hard-to-classify creature, wanders happily across a meadow full of flowers and meets a tree frog. The frog wants to know what kind of animal it is. The Little I-Am-I has no answer. Confused by its own namelessness, it sets off to find out. Horses, fish, birds, hippos, parrots and dogs all cross its path, and it asks each of them whether it might be like them. But every one of them says: you are different. Will it ever find an identity of its own?
