The Makropulos Case (The Secret of Eternal Youth)

After Karel Čapek.

Eternal youth raises eternal questions: how do we value a life that is unique and irreplaceable - with all its joyful and painful moments? What does it mean to be mortal?

In the sixteenth century, Emperor Rudolf II lies dying. In desperation, he orders his court physician Makropulos to develop an elixir that extends life.

In the twenty-first century, a mysterious figure suddenly appears who inexplicably looks young - and seems to guard the secret of eternal youth.
