Programme: Mozart - Sonatas in A minor KV 310 & C major KV 545, Fantasia in D minor KV 397; Chopin - Ballades in G minor op. 23 & F major op. 38, Fantasia in F minor op. 49

Olga Scheps was born in Russia to Ukrainian pianist parents and has lived in Germany - her adopted home - since 1992. Spotted early by Alfred Brendel, she went on to study with Pavel Gililov, Arie Vardi and Dmitri Bashkirov. Her debut album "Chopin" won an ECHO Klassik award in 2009. Further releases followed: "Russian Album", "Tschaikowsky", and recordings of works by Schubert and Satie. On "Melody" (2019) she drew a musical arc across four centuries, from J. S. Bach to Aphex Twin; two years later came "Family", featuring new piano arrangements of well-known melodies and film soundtracks alongside previously unreleased compositions by Chilly Gonzales and herself. Beyond her worldwide solo and orchestral engagements, Scheps is a passionate chamber musician, performing regularly with Alban Gerhardt, Daniel Hope, Nils Monkemeyer and the Danish String Quartet.
