As Australian playwright Suzie Miller puts it, "the female experience of sexualised violence does not fit into any system shaped by men". Miller, who previously worked as a human rights and criminal lawyer, wrote Prima Facie in 2019 and the play has since caused a sensation worldwide, won numerous awards, been adapted as a novel, and is currently being made into a film. It may also help ensure that "shame finally changes sides" (Gisèle Pelicot).
