With her debut novel "Die schönste Version" - an exploration of toxic relationships and patriarchal structures - Ruth-Maria Thomas established herself as one of the most distinctive new voices in contemporary German-language literature. Her second novel "Die zweitgrößte Liebe" (dtv) is now out: a political love story about love and subtle differences, about social divides that sometimes seem bridgeable and far more often prove far too wide.

The conversation with the author will be led by literary mediator Amelie May.
