Description was written before the event

Brazilian pianist Amaro Freitas grew up in the slums of Recife and has become one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary jazz, driven by a commanding stage presence and a highly individual playing style. His music is deeply rooted in Afro-Brazilian traditions - rhythms such as Maracatu and Frevo blend with modern jazz, free improvisation and a strong spiritual dimension.
