When M. Byrd became a father for the first time, he found himself in a place that felt completely foreign - and that experience is at the heart of his 2025 album A Better Place [Nettwerk].

The German singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer launched his musical career in 2020 with the single "Mountain" (10.9 million Spotify streams), followed by the Orion EP featuring fan favourite "Morning Sun" (6.2 million streams). His first full studio album The Seed arrived in 2023, earning praise from outlets including EUPHORIA., 1883 Magazine and OnesToWatch.

A Better Place was written in two distinct phases - before and after the birth of his child, a period that also saw his family relocate from Hamburg to Denmark. "I was saying goodbye to many friends in Hamburg and starting a new life in Denmark. All these changes were happening at once, and I really tried to capture them in songs so I could carry them with me forever."
