IN DIE SONNE SCHAUEN follows four women from different eras - Alma (1910s), Erika (1940s), Angelika (1980s) and Nelly (2020s) - whose lives are bound together in uncanny ways. Each of them experiences childhood or adolescence on a farm in the Altmark region, yet as they move through their own present, traces of the past surface around them: unspoken fears, suppressed traumas, buried secrets.

Director Mascha Schilinski has made a sweeping, epoch-spanning film - a grand tour through the most delicate recesses of these four women's inner lives.
