Othello.Therapy - John von Düffel

Theater Pralka presents its new play "Othello.Therapy" by John von Düffel in 2026.

Desdemona, Emilia and Bianca - Othello's strangled victim, Iago's stabbed victim and Cassio's ex - sit at a bowling alley a few hundred years after their deaths. They had actually sworn to avoid the subject of men. Instead, they talk manically about their failed relationships and the possibilities of new love. Old wounds reopen, resentment and jealousy erupt - especially when Lodovico appears, the rich and coveted handsome man. For a moment, competition threatens, then the three women solidarize again. Each develops her own personal Othello therapy, yearns for a different life and in her imagination is already close to happiness - until courage fails her.

Cast: Christine Haus (Desdemona), Martina Speier (Emilia), Silke Seehaus (Bianca), Christelle Kinzelbach (Bärbel), Stefan Lick (Rodrigo), Andrea Manke (Handkerchief). Prompter: Heike Mägle-Barth. Technical: Mani Mayer and Martin Langer.
