Sound music: overtone singing and improvisations

Overtone singing uses specific vocal techniques to produce a kind of two-part harmony: above the fundamental tone, overtones emerge, detach spatially from the singer, and unfold in ensemble into spherical sound fields. The physical structure of the overtone series brings these sounds into immediate, almost holistic resonance with the listener.

Drawing on the acoustics of this former sacred space, the concert opens up unusual sonic worlds.
