Hurentour - Das Original - The History of Prostitution Brought to Life

Hurentour - Das Original is a walking tour through Hamburg's St. Pauli district that explores the history and present-day reality of prostitution - factual, respectful, and with a touch of humour. The narrative stretches from the temples of ancient Babylon to the current organisation of brothels in St. Pauli, going well beyond clichés. Social, cultural and economic aspects of sex work are covered alongside the industry's taboos, rules and challenges.

Stops along the route include Davidstraße, Herbertstraße (approached from a historical and cultural angle, not as a walkthrough), Davidwache, Hans-Albers-Platz, and - depending on visitor numbers - Große Freiheit. A certified guide leads the group, with historical photographs used throughout. Drinks, tips and interior visits are not included in the price.
