Wagner-Café - The Sound of Dresden - Ernst von Schuch between Wagner and Strauss
Jagdschloss, Pirna, Germany
16 €
Schuch's significance for Dresden's musical life is beyond dispute. From 1872 onwards, as Royal Court Kapellmeister, he wielded his influence over programming to bring Wagner operas to their premiere in Dresden. His commitment to Richard Strauss was particularly remarkable - he conducted the world premieres of Strauss's operas Feuersnot, Salome, Elektra, and Der Rosenkavalier. On the occasion of Schuch's 180th birthday, Martina Damm, his great-granddaughter and chair of the Schuch Family Foundation, will present the legacy of her great-grandfather. The subsequent concert will feature songs by Wagner, Schuch, Felix Draeseke, and Strauss, performed and hosted by baritone Bernhard Hansky, accompanied by Prof. Schütze at the piano.
Performers: Bernhard Hansky (baritone), Prof. Schütze (piano). Venue: Jagdschloss in Pirna.
