What do we really know about our families - and what have we never dared to ask?

In families with a National Socialist past, it wasn't only loss and guilt that were passed down, but above all a silence and an ignorance that continue to shape our culture of remembrance to this day.

We asked ourselves: what effects are still visible today? How do we deal with German perpetration, and what kind of memorial culture do we want? Ten artists approach these questions around the Second World War, violence, and what remains for the generations that follow - without promising any answers.
