World-famous plastic surgeon Prof. Dr. Clemens Postéll is at the peak of his career. His marriage to Heidrun Wussow, heiress to the Wussow-Hehn Clinic, has made him its director. He is one of the greats in his field - the terror of love handles and bulbous noses alike. With the help of his sometimes eccentric staff, and above all his childhood friend and CFO Hauke Assauer, he has steered his Excellence Clinic through every upheaval and healthcare reform that came its way.

Then he overreaches: pressured by his wife, he replaces his CFO with an AI. Shortly afterwards, his wife is kidnapped - and it's far from clear how he is supposed to raise the ransom. He decides to call in the police. But will the somewhat long-in-the-tooth Detective Holmsen and his assistant Benni Franzon manage to bring the professor's wife home in one piece?
