Kulturzentrum Pavillon, Hannover, Germany
33.9 €
"GUNDERMANN", directed by Andreas Dresen, became an arthouse hit and won 6 LOLA awards - Germany's top film prize. The film was universally praised by critics: deeply moving, with a soundtrack that gets under your skin. Alexander Scheer, in the lead role, received the Bavarian Film Prize and a LOLA for his performance. An active singer and musician himself, he also won the German Record Critics' Award for his interpretation of the songs - and, almost as a side note, landed in the Top 20 of the German album charts.
Scheer, who previously captivated audiences as Keith Richards in "Das wilde Leben" and as David Bowie at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg, immerses himself deeply in the world and songs of Gerhard Gundermann. He probes them, draws out an almost magnetic intensity "with everything he has", and delivers them back to the audience at full force.
A band was formed specifically for the film premiere - no one anticipated it would grow into a project that has since become a concert highlight and festival event with a rapidly expanding following across Germany. The first live album "Immer wieder Nie Genug" is now out, proof that the project keeps moving forward and joyfully broadening its repertoire. Dancing is very much encouraged!
"These songs move you, and so does this band - six people who look like old friends on the road together. There's an energy flow that recharges the batteries, builds connection, and gives courage in difficult times." (Hamburger Abendblatt)
"A magical evening" (Leipziger Volkszeitung)
