Hitverdächtig - The Music Comedy Stand-Up Show (constantly updated)
Can you seriously get a PhD in pop music? Yes! And what do you do with it? Comedy and cabaret. Dr. Pop is a doctor for all things musical. He treats audiences with music samples and fascinating facts about music.
Dr. Pop studied media studies and pop music in the four great pop music capitals of the world: Manchester, Liverpool, Paderborn, and Detmold. He then completed his doctorate on terrorism and orientalism in pop music at Humboldt University in Berlin - spending six years under police protection. He initially assumed it was because of the explosive nature of his theses, but it turned out that Angela Merkel's private apartment was right next door to his music institute. Dr. Pop performs on stage, produces videos, and is heard as a radio comedian on WDR2, SWR3, and 104.6 RTL, as well as a weekly columnist on radioeins (RBB). He has appeared at NightWash, Quatsch Comedy Club, Kabarett-Theater Wühlmäuse, and a senior centre in Charlottenburg.
In his solo live show "Hitverdächtig", Dr. Pop decodes which music can save a party, a relationship, and even a life. The audience gets surprisingly funny answers to questions like: Which music boosts libido or the motivation to exercise? Which music makes you smarter and which dulls the mind? Why do termites chew through wood twice as fast when listening to heavy metal? And why do ten people sit at laptops to write a hit today instead of one person with a guitar? Dr. Pop fills in the last missing Spotify playlist and stages a musical rebellion against the threat of Wi-Fi failure. He fires off samples of familiar and new hits from music history - hip-hop, rock, pop, Schlager, classical, and jazz. Dr. Pop makes it audible: there is a right song for every situation in life.
Hitverdächtig - the music comedy stand-up show for everyone who loves music.
