Lea & Esther Birringer - Violin and Piano
Bürgerhaus Neuenhagen, Germany
Sisters Lea and Esther Birringer gained international attention in 2011 when, as a duo, they successively won two prestigious chamber music competitions: Premio Vittorio Gui in Florence and Concorso Internazionale di Musica da Carme Città di Pinerolo, where they received a special prize for the best Brahms interpretation. "Artistically, both beautiful sisters are a force," wrote Concerti - a verdict that powerfully attests to their musical impact.
Their shared discography is marked by artistic curiosity, dramaturgical clarity, and a rich sonic palette. The duo's debut album with sonatas by Szymanowski, Hindemith, and Respighi was enthusiastically received - "The name Birringer must be remembered," wrote WDR. Subsequent albums released on Rubicon Classics - Lifelines (2018) and Di tanti palpiti (2019), the latter nominated for the ICMA Awards and the German Record Critics' Prize - solidified the sisters' reputation as a musical ensemble of the highest caliber.
