Lea & Esther Birringer - Violin and Piano

Sisters Lea and Esther Birringer gained international attention in 2011 when, as a duo, they successively won the chamber music competitions Premio Vittorio Gui in Florence and Concorso Internazionale di Musica da Carme Città di Pinerolo - the latter with a special prize for the best Brahms interpretation. "Artistically, these two beautiful sisters are a force," wrote Concerti.

Their duo debut album featuring sonatas by Szymanowski, Hindemith, and Respighi was enthusiastically received - "The name Birringer must be remembered," noted WDR. The albums released by Rubicon Classics - Lifelines (2018) and Di tanti palpiti (2019) - further solidified this reputation; the latter was nominated for the ICMA Awards and the German Record Critics' Prize.

The programme features works by Amanda Röntgen-Maier, Edvard Grieg, and Clara Schumann.
