Description was written before the event

To mark Freddie Mercury's 80th birthday, Capitol Mannheim is hosting a Queen Unplugged evening - for the last time in this format. For several years now, the Capitol Ensemble has staged this concert around the former Queen frontman's birthday, and in 2026 it returns once more with a string quartet drawn from the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz.

Vocalists for the evening are Maram, Sascha Lien and Sascha Kleinophorst, with Irena Müller Müller and Daniel Würfel in supporting roles. The band features Frank Schäffer, Matthias Klöpsch, Rolf Breyer, Rainer Dettling and Michael Gilb.

The Capitol Ensemble performs Queen's classic songs in fully acoustic, unplugged arrangements. The show builds on years of work developing "I Want It All", the programme through which the ensemble has long celebrated Freddie Mercury's music live.

Total running time: 2 hrs 20 min. (including interval).
