Kamm ON! Poetry Slam - Best Of - Open Air at Kulturgarten
Kammgarn, Kaiserslautern, Germany
"Winners only" at the Poetry Slam in Kammgarn Kulturgarten: five hand-picked champions from past Kamm ON! editions take the stage for a Best Of evening. In previous rounds, the audience voted to award a golden comb - but since every performer this time already holds that prize, something new is in store. What exactly? That's still under wraps.
The format is new too: each slam pro gets to perform twice, giving the audience a double dose of wordcraft from these well-travelled language virtuosos - more of a poetic showcase than a straight competition.
For anyone new to Poetry Slam: one microphone, six and a half minutes, a varied mix of styles, texts and performers. Anything expressible through words and voice is fair game - singing excluded, props and costumes likewise off-limits.
Hosting the evening is "Phriedrich Chiller", a two-time Rhineland-Palatinate Poetry Slam champion. The audience decides the winner at the end. If the weather turns bad, the event moves indoors.
