Michael Zalejski: "Ich wollt´ was von Reinhard singen…" — APEX, Göttingen

Since his acclaimed tribute to Udo Jürgens, which he has been presenting throughout Germany since 2013, it has become clear that Michael Zalejski is a master of emotion, capable of moving audiences deeply. Beyond his brilliant piano playing and distinctive vocal style, it is above all his authentic approach to unveiling the stories and feelings embedded in the songs that sets him apart. Audiences can expect both the well-known songs of Reinhard Mey and a journey through various themes and facets of life, very much in the spirit of a typical Mey concert. Combined with his humorous and often situational commentary, this creates a truly special concert evening.

Reinhard Mey's songs have accompanied Zalejski throughout his life, much like the music of Udo Jürgens. The fact that these two exceptional artists share several songs led him to create a tribute to Reinhard Mey. The guitar is absent, as Zalejski accompanies himself on piano - but this is no limitation; rather, it opens new sonic possibilities and listening experiences with Mey's songs. All the ingredients for a unique concert evening are in place.

Zalejski studied piano and voice, and for over 25 years has been performing improvised comedy and concerts throughout the German-speaking world. He works as a lecturer at the Hannover University of Music, teaching future music teachers the practical aspects of piano playing.
