Michael Zalejski: "Ich wollt´ was von Reinhard singen..."

Michael Zalejski presents a tribute to Reinhard Mey - not on guitar but at the piano, giving familiar songs a fresh sonic character. The programme covers Mey's best-known songs and moves through the many themes and facets of his work, much in the spirit of a typical Mey concert. Zalejski rounds it off with his trademark humorous, often off-the-cuff commentary.

Zalejski first gained wide recognition through his Udo Jürgens tribute, which he has been performing across Germany since 2013. The songs of both artists - including several they wrote together - have, by his own account, been part of his life for as long as he can remember, making a Reinhard Mey evening a natural next step.

Zalejski studied piano and voice, has spent over 25 years touring the German-speaking world with improvisation comedy and concerts, and teaches practical piano skills to trainee music teachers at the Hannover University of Music, Drama and Media.
